Abstract

Dr. T.J. Sarvoththama Jothi is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at National Institute of Technology Calicut (NIT Calicut), India. He acquired his Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Madurai Kamaraj University, Master's degree in Energy Engineering from Regional Engineering College Tiruchirappalli (National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli), and Ph.D. from Indian Institute of Technology Madras in 2010. He was a post-doctoral fellow in the Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology Korea. Later, he joined NIT Calicut as an Assistant Professor, and has been serving the institute since 2010. Dr. Jothi's research expertise are in the fields of aeroacoustics, jet flows and noise control, combustion, and energy. His research outputs culminated to more than 35 journal publications and 60 conference publications. He supervised four Ph.D. students and more than 30 master students. Dr. Jothi is an active member of several national and international scientific societies. Dr. Jothi was granted summer visiting fellowship awards from JNCASR Bangalore and Indian National Science Academy to carry out research work in renowned labs. He was awarded with The Institution of Engineers (India) - young engineers award towards his contribution in the field of Mechanical Engineering in 2012.
