Abstract
Dr. Prasun Jana is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at IIT Kharagpur. He has done BE in Mechanical Engineering from IIEST Shibpur; MS from IIT Madras, and PhD from IIT Kharagpur. He has worked with the Indian Space Research Organization and General Electric, for a total of 5 years, in the area of design and analysis of composite structures. He has also worked as an Assistant Professor at IIT Mandi and IIT Dhanbad. Dr. Jana has expertise in applied mechanics and finite element analysis, with more than 26 research publications in reputed international journals. His research interests lie primarily in the use of computational mechanics to address some underlying questions of material modeling and structural design. Presently, he is working on broad areas of research topics such as vibration analysis, dynamic stiffness method, Impact behaviour of structures, composites and functionally graded materials, and stability of structures.
