Abstract

Dr. T.J. Sarvoththama Jothi is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the National Institute of Technology Calicut (NIT Calicut), India. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Madurai Kamaraj University, followed by a Master’s degree in Energy Engineering from Regional Engineering College Tiruchirappalli (now National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli), and a Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras in 2010. Subsequently, he pursued post-doctoral research at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in South Korea. Dr. Jothi joined NIT Calicut as an Assistant Professor in 2010 and has been a part of the institution since then.
His research interests include aeroacoustics, jet flows and noise control, and combustion. Over the years, he has published approximately 40 journal articles and 70 conference papers. He has successfully supervised four Ph.D. scholars and guided more than 35 master’s students. Dr. Jothi is an active member of various national and international scientific societies. He has received summer visiting fellowships from the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR), Bangalore, and the Indian National Science Academy (INSA) to conduct research in prestigious laboratories. In recognition of his contributions to Mechanical Engineering, he was honored with the Young Engineers Award by The Institution of Engineers (India) in 2012.
