Abstract

Adolf C, Doyon F, Klimmek F and Tinner W (2018) Validating a continental European charcoal calibration dataset. The Holocene 28(10): 1642–1652. DOI: 10.1177/0959683618782607
In the above article, the authors have mistakenly reported the unit of tFRP (total Fire Radiative Power) to be Watts per m2 [W m-2], when it should instead be Mega Watts [MW]. tFRP refers to the sum of MW of the detected pixels within an area of 5027 km2 (40 km radius around a study lake) used for calibration, as also valid for the other fire reconstruction values (i.e. FN: Fire Number per 5027 km2 and BA: sum of Burned Areas per 101788 km2 / 180 km radius).
