Corrections to this article have been made since it was first published OnlineFirst in The Holocene.
The corrections involve: (1) removal from the text of the unpublished archaeobotanical results of Dr. Tang Liya from the site Gepa Serul, and hence changes to the numbered sites included in Figure. 1; (2) minor changes to the list of references; and (3) correction of a number of typographic errors in the text.
