Outlines factors leading to an increase in the information requirements of local government managers. Current research into these needs and examples of existing services for local government officers are described, particularly that of the GLC Intelligence Unit's Research Library. Looks at future cooperative developments in information provision in London local government and comments on the role of the library profession as a whole in the field of local government information.
