Highlights in Update 108
Welcome to Update 108 where we concentrate on Chapter 3, Contracts and Finance.
We last updated this chapter in 2014, and we know how challenging a time it has been on practices since then, with ever increasing demands being placed on general practice and wider primary care. We can see this through clinical team members and practice managers being required to work with new and evolving systems (technical and organisational), and new contacts developing within the new and emergent organisations (e.g. in England: vanguards/new models of care/ integrated care teams/primary care at scale).
We have begun to touch on some of these, but recognise that there will soon be change as a consequence of Brexit, and due to the push for more integrated care nationally – but we also appreciate that a lot of the practicalities of how this will effect general practice directly is still to be fleshed out.
