Abstract

Nathaniel W. Jarrett is a PhD candidate at the University of North Texas and Student Fellow with the Military History Center, studying the French Revolution and Napoleon under Dr Michael V. Leggiere. He received his BA at High Point University in 2011 and his MA at UNT in 2013. He is writing his doctoral dissertation on British strategy during the French Revolutionary Wars.
David Ian Hall is a Senior Lecturer in the Defence Studies Department, King’s College London at the Joint Services Command and Staff College, part of the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom. Dr Hall is a German historian who specializes in nineteenth- and early twentieth-century cultural and intellectual history and the rise of National Socialism. He also teaches an interdisciplinary MA special subject entitled ‘Hitler Studies’. His current research is on the Bayreuth Festival during the Second World War.
Christopher Smith is Lecturer in Modern British and European History at the University of Kent.
Alfred Tembo is a Research Associate in the Centre for Africa Studies at the University of the Free State, Bloemfontein, South Africa. His research interests focus on African military history, and the colonial and post-colonial economic history of Zambia.
Steven Paget is a Lecturer in Strategy and Operations with the New Zealand Defence Force and an NZDF Teaching Fellow at Massey University. Prior to that, he was a Visiting Scholar in the History Department at Dartmouth College. His research is focussed on operations conducted by the Royal Australian Navy (RAN), Royal Canadian Navy (RCN), Royal Navy (RN), Royal New Zealand Navy (RNZN) and the United States Navy (USN) since the Second World War.
