Abstract

Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the Editorial team, I am delighted to present to you the June 2026 issue of the Indian Journal of Rheumatology. This issue carries a series of articles on spondyloarthropathy from India and beyond. An interesting study (with an accompanying editorial) assesses the findings of nail fold capillaroscopy in psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. A randomized controlled trial (the PSpA study) confirms the lack of efficacy of low-to-medium dose oral glucocorticoids in patients with peripheral spondyloarthropathy. Two multicentric studies from India report observations on uveitis and early axial spondyloarthropathy. Another interesting article summarizes the quality of online information for patients with spondyloarthropathy. Two review articles overview peripheral spondyloarthropathy and the management of spondyloarthropathy with Janus kinase inhibitors. In addition to these, an editorial provides tips and tricks for young authors on writing an abstract and designing keywords, figures, and tables for a scientific manuscript, aspects often relegated to the background in discussions on scientific writing.
We have updated our editorial instructions and policies in line with the latest recommendations for scholarly journals from the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and our publisher, SAGE. The latest iteration of the instructions is available on the website (https://journals-sagepub-com-s.web.bisu.edu.cn/author-instructions/JRH). Editorial independence is ingrained in these instructions and is something we take extremely seriously. Prospective authors may like to familiarise themselves with the updated article types, their relevant instructions, and the updated conflict of interest statements. Review articles considered by the journal shall largely be invited or commissioned; authors are welcome to discuss such proposals with me before submission. I look forward to your continued support and suggestions to further the growth of the journal, building upon the foundations laid by my predecessors.
