The timing of this recognition comes 25 years after the publication of the first issue of the journal in 1995 under its Founding Editor Reiner Hoffmann who was at that time the Director of the ETUI. From the beginning, the ambition of the journal has been to bridge the worlds of labour and research. It is now also 10 years since SAGE started publishing Transfer for the ETUI in 2010. We would like to thank SAGE for their support over these past 10 years and for encouraging us to apply to SSCI, as well as all our authors and issue coordinators and of course the Transfer Editorial Committee members for all their hard work and continuous support over the years.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank Maria Jepsen, who was Editor of Transfer from 2006 to 2019 before moving to Dublin to become Deputy Director of the European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions. Maria Jepsen made a huge contribution to the development of Transfer as a journal bridging the worlds of labour and research.
Transfer will continue to be a journal for both practitioners and the world of research in line with our Aims and scope to stimulate dialogue between the European trade union movement and the academic and research community.
We are especially keen to attract submissions from young researchers and to support them in getting published. The world of work is changing in unprecedented ways, and Transfer remains committed to bringing in new voices and supporting new generations of researchers working on labour-related issues.
