Abstract

We are pleased to announce the sixteenth annual Financial Reporting and Business Communication Conference organised by the University of Bristol and the BAFA FARSIG. This is the premier conference of its kind worldwide and it attracts an international audience. The conference comprises parallel paper sessions with discussants and a doctoral stream. The conference addresses key areas of interest to accounting academics and practitioners and includes:
The effectiveness of financial reporting standards
The role financial reporting plays in capital markets and in corporate governance
The purpose of the modern corporate report in the light of the current financial crisis
How financial reporting contributes to financial stability
Current and future reporting frameworks for risk/environmental disclosure.
Carbon accounting and reporting.
Papers are invited on these topics and on all aspects of financial reporting and business communication. This includes empirical and theoretical papers, case studies and review articles on such topics as the measurement, disclosure, presentation, communication and impact of financial and business information contained in annual reports and other business documentation in the private and public sectors. Organisational, historical and international studies are welcomed.
