Teams as Patterns of Interaction: Rethinking Team Dynamics for the Next Decade

Abstract

This reflection advances a view of teams as dynamic patterns of interaction that emerge through recursive, relational processes over time. Integrating developments in systems thinking, measurement, and artificial intelligence, I argue that progress in team research hinges on preserving interactional structure and aligning theory, methods, and training with the inherently dynamic nature of team life.
