Creating a new association to serve potential new members has been the focus of a group of professors along last year. The group considered the issue of effectiveness and the merits of fixing the mission and vision of the new association. Building upon the past success of other national associations as well as ISAGA, the international representative association, the working group identified areas that such new association could better serve its members and also have a greater influence in society. A particular structure is necessary to achieve an expanded set of services for members and increased influence within society. The perceived needs of members require a dramatically different structure due to financial limitations and time demanding to a volunteer based job. The working group identified a solution for dealing with each demand. The Brazilian Simulation and Gaming Association – BRASAGA starts with four chapters with specific focus. The Institutional chapter has the focus on the search for new members, aligning the objectives internally and representing the association in events. It is leaded by Luiz Antonio Titton, Phd from Universidade de Sao Paulo, Brazil. The Consumers Chapter receives all members through social networks to share experiences, promote S&G use and divulgate materials, facts and events. This chapter president is Luiz Cesar Barcante, Phd from Fundacao Getulio Vargas, Brazil. The Industry chapter has the mission to develop the S&G industry in the country and has no president yet. It receives not only Brazilian companies as well as foreign ones to disseminate the experiential learning as well as the use of simulations as a path to the local industry development. The previous chapters’ official language is Portuguese. However, the Scientific chapters’ official language is English the solution to promote the inclusion of the Brazilian scientific community into the international one. Thousands of articles and papers published in Portuguese are apart from the universal knowledge because of the language barrier and a gate starts with some initial steps. The first step is the issue of the BRASAGA Journal in English with a Portuguese version of all published articles. The first CfP and more information about the new association is accessible at www.brasaga.org. You can join the association at Linkedin or Facebook to access recent posts.

Introduction to ISAGA 2017 conference:
In 2017, the annual ISAGA conference will be held jointly by ISAGA (International Simulation and Gaming Association) and SAGANET (Simulation and Gaming Association the Netherlands). It is the sixed ISAGA conference in the Netherlands, the first one to be held in Delft. Delft is a small town, characterized by its beautiful medieval city center with typical Dutch warehouses along the canals, and at the same time by technology and innovation, represented by TU Delft, the Technopolis park, and the new central station. Its location goes well with the theme of the 2017 conference, “Sustainable cities and smart infrastructures” as it is located close to both Rotterdam with its large international harbor, and The Hague, home of the government and most of the ministries. The host, the Delft University of Technology (TUD), has a long tradition of designing, using, and evaluating simulation games. Save the date – the conference will be held from 10th to 14th of July, 2017. Further information and a call for workshops and papers will follow soon.
