Abstract

I have served over a year as editorial assistant for The Family Journal. I considered the experience to be invaluable in working with our editors, Drs. Southern and Yu, as well as members of the editorial board and authors. As an editorial assistant, I enjoyed communicating directly with the major contributors to progress in marriage and family counseling. I have learned so much from them including new models and practices, various interpretations and applications of theories, results of research, and so much more. It is my privilege to be able to read the articles before our subscribers. I have found so many inspiring articles that were useful in my professional development. I tried to help in publishing them quickly, so the articles would be available to our readers. I respect the tremendous amount of time and effort invested in scholarship. I look forward to pursuing my own research and professional writing to continue my contribution.
I believe The Family Journal has been a major tool in building up our profession. I thank all of you in giving me the opportunity to learn about our field from a valuable perspective and grow as a professional. Thank-you, Dr. Yu and Dr. Southern, for caring and supporting me as we pursued our collaboration as a team.
