A comprehensive summary of the evidence for the validity and reliability of the Vocational Identity scale is provided for the period 1980-1992. The authors conclude that the Identity scale has substantial construct validity and retest reliability. Contrary to earlier analyses, a recent large scale factor analysis strongly suggests that the scale is best represented by a single factor.
