This paper describes the need for new-technology solutions to information support for trainees, operators, and maintenance technicians, relative to combat readiness and systems availability problems. Data automation technology in various forms will be required to provide optimal solutions to problems for which hard-copy technical information approaches are limiting progress in usability at this time. An automated training/aiding system is discussed, which can allow highly interactive system solutions to technical data usability.
