Six light sources were judged by 60 subjects of three racial groups in terms of their facial acceptability. Over all subjects the sources from greatest to least acceptability were incandescent, warm white fluorescent, cool white fluorescent, metal halide, high pressure sodium and low pressure sodium. No race liked low pressure sodium. Non-whites did not care for high pressure sodium.
