The Effects of the Ideological Congruency/Distance between Journalism and Mass Communication Students and Their Professors on the Students' Learning Experience

This study, based on the coorientation model, explores the effects of the ideological congruency/distance between journalism and mass communication students and their professors on the learning experience of the students. It finds that ideological distance/congruency did not affect students' perceptions of their overall learning experience and their class grades but had a statistically significant effect on the extent to which they participate in class discussions.
