Abstract
Professor Jeffery Smith joined Journalism & Mass Communication Quarterly as an associate editor in 2002 and Professor Julie Andsager became an associate editor in 2003. Both are outstanding scholars selected because of their knowledge of the field and the quality of their own scholarship. During their terms, they’ve also demonstrated that they are rigorous and demanding editors, able to help authors achieve their best work. I believe that may be the highest compliment you can give an editor. Both Jeff and Julie have stepped down from their posts as associate editors, but will continue to serve Journalism & Mass Communication Quarterly and our field as members of the Editorial Advisory Board. Thank you, Jeff and Julie, for more than a decade of excellent work. It’s been a pleasure.

We also rely on seventy-six members of the Journalism & Mass Communication Quarterly Editorial Advisory Board identified on the inside front page of each issue and on the service of other reviewers from throughout the world. Not counting the editor and four outstanding associate editors, a total of 393 nationally and internationally known scholars participated in the manuscript reviewing process in calendar 2013.
