Abstract

In this not-so fictional world recorded by Finnish and South African newspapers, “John Miller,” big city real estate tycoon with political aspirations, has generated a whole political and discursive system’s worth of outrageous statements, charges, insults, and assorted verbal attacks aimed at people and groups. His (de)humanization of the Other and the all is transformative, global, and cuts across races, ethnicities, religions, languages, genders, disabilities, and sexual orientations (for more examples, see http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2016/01/28/upshot/donald-trump-twitter-insults.html?_r=0)
This (de)humanizing also produces: talks, subjects, overused texts, discourses, practices, misappropriated phrases, languages, power, money and wealth, and many minor gestures.
Here’s a fact. All people agree that we need to get rid of all “bad” people. Increase our security.
That’s great. Absolutely!
I do have “a very good brain,” and “I know more about Isis than the generals do.” Maybe we should “Bomb the shit out of them.”
Fantastic! Bombing, fires, and air pollution might increase climate change. Amazing!
Yeah, well, “climate change is a hoax invented by the Chinese.” Rather than decreasing pollution, we should eliminate the radicals. (Cheers from the crowd.) By the way, “more countries should have nuclear weapons including Saudi Arabia.”
“Maksuhaluttomat kumppanimaat on jätettävä oman onnensa nojaan”
That is classy and maybe not only be an educated guess.
Oh, did I mention I love the poorly educated?
We wonder if the moronic in all this builds from the absence of critical thinking too often found in American educational system.
(ignoring the wonderings of the poorly educated) #WheresHillary?
Sleeping! Getting her beauty rest!!!! Who is critical now? After all, “I mean, we could say
politically correct ways that look doesn’t matter, but the look obviously matters . . . Like you [a woman]
wouldn’t have your job if you weren’t beautiful,
Stupid, horrible, and ugly people?
“#26,000 unreported sexual assults [spelling original] in the military—only 238
convictions. What did these geniuses expect when they put men and women together?”
“Minä yritän pelastaa ihmishenkiä ja estää seuraavan terrori-iskun”
John Miller’s mathematical formula: A woman plus a man = A rape!
American lives matter! “We’ve had a Black president, so it’s not a question any more. Are they saying Black lives should matter more than White lives or Asian lives? If Black lives matter, then go back to Africa. We’ll see how much they matter there.”
You bet!
“What the hell you [Blacks] have to lose? You live in poverty, your schools are no good, you don’t have jobs, 58% of your youngsters are without jobs.”
Good point?
“Oh, look at my African American over here. Look at him!” “Are you the greatest?”
Ohh . . .
Have we (Americans) become so weak?
Stuff happens. “We have no way to check the background of all immigrants, pay for their income, or prohibit their descendants to become radicals.” I would like to add that “Mexicans are great people. They are awesome and hard-working people. I love the Mexican people, but Mexico is not our friend. They’re killing us at the border and they’re killing us on jobs and trade. FIGHT!”
“It is just a feeling. Nobody should listen to me because I have not familiarized myself with this issue.” To my American friends, I have an eight-person tent that I can set up in the forest behind my house but you may need your own air mattresses.
“Lähtivätpä tai jäivät, se ei juuri kiinnosta minua”
I make America great again! Believe it!
