Abstract

Take a Minute to BE DEC!
Being part of a professional organization like the Division for Early Childhood of the Council for Exceptional Children (DEC) is a commitment you have made to yourself, your career, and the children and families who inspire your work. We are fortunate to have so many dedicated members! You might be surprised to learn, however, that not everyone in our field is a member of the DEC. When you finish reading this issue of Young Exceptional Children (YEC), take a minute to send a note to a colleague or two (or more!) letting them know about our organization. Tell them what DEC means to you. Send them a link to www.dec-sped.org.

Special Interest Groups (SIGs)
What are Special Interest Groups? About a year ago, DEC launched an important initiative to engage our members in dialogue on key areas in early intervention and early childhood special education. SIGs provide an opportunity to meet other members who share your professional interests, share resources, and collaborate on projects. If you would like to join or find out more about these DEC SIGs, send an email to
