The Division for Early Childhood of the Council for Exceptional Children (DEC) is pleased to acknowledge our 2012 award winners. Call for Papers for DEC’s 2013 Annual International Conference in San Francisco
The theme for the 29th Annual International Conference on Young Children With Special Needs and Their Families is “Bridging Research, Policy and Practice . . . Every Day, Every Chance, Every Child.” DEC, along with Ted Burke, the 2013 conference program chair, invites you to submit a proposal for the DEC•2013 conference program. Submit a proposal for a session, poster session, student poster session, roundtable discussion, or full-day pre-conference workshop. Go to www.dec-sped.org/conference to find complete submission instructions, a detailed description of the conference strands, and additional information about DEC’s proposal review process. Register Now for DEC’s First Recommended Practice Institute
DEC, in collaboration with our Vermont subdivision, announces a brand new event especially for practitioners. If you want to polish your skills and build your professional toolbox, this event is for you. The Practice Institute is a 3-day professional development experience designed to strengthen the practices used by those working directly with young children with disabilities from birth through age 5. Experts from around the country will come together to put research into a practical, everyday context. Plan to attend—April 28 to 30, 2013, at the Hilton Burlington in Burlington, Vermont, USA. Young Exceptional Children (YEC) Monograph 14 considers contemporary perspectives about strategies to support young children who are dual language learners who are served in inclusive early childhood settings.
