Abstract
There has been considerable debate about professionalisation and ‘credentialisation’ for evaluators across the evaluation community. One approach that has gained some traction in places as diverse as New Zealand and Canada is a voluntary peer based system known as VEPR. The International Organisation for Cooperation in Evaluation (IOCE) has had a key role in enlarging the scope of this debate. VEPR was the subject of a consultation exercise and international workshop co-hosted by the UK Evaluation Society and the European Evaluation Society in April 2014. The reports on this workshop and the associated description of how VEPR might work are clearly set out in the workshop report.
