Abstract
New date for European Evaluation Society 14th Biennial Conference 6–10 September 2021: ‘Evaluation in an Uncertain World: Complexity, Legitimacy and Ethics’
In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic and the interests of participant and workers’ safety, European Evaluation Society (EES) have postponed EES2020 due to be held in Copenhagen 21–26 September this year. EES are pleased to announce that the conference will now take place 6–10 September 2021 in the Tivoli Conference Centre in Copenhagen. Abstracts already submitted for the postponed event are being held and there will be a further opportunity for submission of new or revised abstracts early next year. EES will much look forward to welcoming participants to Copenhagen in 2021 for an event that is of much relevance to current debates in evaluation in these times of crisis and uncertainty.
In the months running up to the conference, EES will mount a number of online events that aim to tackle the major issues of practice, role and function of evaluation in times of crisis and change. The programme will include a number of ‘keynote’ seminars that will debate transformative agendas for evaluation, examining the shifts in role, remit, values and reach of evaluation that will be required to more effectively support social and environmental change. The society will also be running a number of practice-orientated events to help evaluators deal with the methodological and ethical challenges we face in doing evaluation in COVID-19 and post-COVID times. Claremont Evaluation Center Professional Development Workshops
In August, the Claremont Evaluation Center is offering its annual Professional Development Workshops, which provide working professionals and students with world-class practical and theoretical training in evaluation and applied research. Due to the constraints of COVID-19, all workshops in 2020 will be conducted online instead of in person.
This year’s workshop series is scheduled for 14–22 August and will feature 18 seminars covering various topics in evaluation and research methods. Taught by leading academics and seasoned practitioners, this workshop series is suitable for anyone wishing to gain deeper insight into the latest tools and strategies used in research and evaluation practice.
