Heidi Byrnes is George M. Roth Distinguished Professor of German Emerita at Georgetown University. Her publications have focused on the development of advanced literacy, particularly in a curricular context. She is a past president of AAAL, past editor of the MLJ,and is the recipient of numerous professional association awards.
Rod Ellis is a Research Professor in the School of Education, Curtin University in Perth Australia. He is also a visiting professor at Shanghai International Studies University and an Emeritus Distinguished Professor of the University of Auckland. He has written extensively on second language acquisition and task-based language teaching. His most recent book is Reflections on Task-Based Language Teaching (2018) published by Multilingual Matters.
ZhaoHong Han is Professor of Language and Education at Teachers College, Columbia University, where she teaches graduate courses in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, and Foreign Language Instruction and where she also directs the Center for International Foreign Language Teacher Education. Her research interests straddle basic and applied second language acquisition (SLA).
Eun Young Kang received her doctorate in Applied Linguistics from Teachers College, Columbia University. Her articles have appeared in Modern Language Journal and RELC Journal.
Ronald P. Leow is Professor (Applied Linguistics) in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at Georgetown University. His interests include language curriculum development, teacher education, Instructed Language Learning, psycholinguistics, cognitive processes in language learning, research methodology, and CALL. Professor Leow has published extensively in prestigious journals, books, and Handbooks.
Roy Lyster is Professor Emeritus of Second Language Education at McGill University in Montreal. His research examines instruction designed to counterbalance form-focused and content-based approaches. He is author of Learning and Teaching Languages Through Content (Benjamins), Vers une approach intégrée en immersion (Les Éditions CEC), and Content-Based Language Teaching (Routledge).
Hossein Nassaji is Professor of Applied Linguistics in the Department of Linguistics, University of Victoria, Canada, and is currently the co-editor of Language Teaching Research. His recent books are Corrective Feedback in Second Language Teaching and Learning (2017, Routledge, with Eva Kartchava) and Interactional Feedback Dimension in Instructed Second Language Learning (2015, Bloomsbury).
Sarah Sok is a lecturer and academic coordinator in the Program in Academic English at the University of California, Irvine. Her research interests include instructed second language acquisition, task-based language teaching, second language vocabulary acquisition, and English for academic purposes.
