Abstract
This special issue is dedicated to the memory of Chris Rumford, who was a long-standing associate editor of the EJST, a friend and fellow-traveller in social theory over many years. In 2005, we published with Routledge a jointly written book, Rethinking Europe: Social Theory and the Implications of Europeanization. Chris died on 16 July 2016 at the age of 57.
