Editorial: Transforming Humanities and Arts in HE - networks,blogs,journal Special Issues

@AHHEresearch, the twitter account of artsandhumanities.org, the founder network of Arts and Humanities in HE journal, tweeted that, with the blog advocacy site (www.artsandhumanities.org) with hubs around the world and across the discipline fields,

we are trying to build networks around transformatory Humanities & Arts issues: purposes, values, impact, advocacy.

We hope that this issue, as each and every one since vol. 1 in 2002, both reflects and extends that networked community.

We start with David Hayes’ essay ‘Against critical thinking pedagogy’ and Lloyd Hamilton Peters’ dramatic (sic) ‘A Higher Education – A polemic (for a change)’.

Then we have a forum from Sabin, Reynaud and Northcote and Gellar-Goad on ‘Wargaming in Higher Education’: Contributions and Challenges and in History and language learning, concluding with Mark Carnes’ thoughtful ‘How the war on “bad play” has impoverished HE’.

Then follow Edung and Uhuegbu’s case study of foreign language literacy in Nigerian universities and Miles and Rainbird’s article ‘Evaluating interdisciplinary collaborative learning and assessment in the creative arts and humanities’.
