The Development and Appraisal of 3D Interlinked Woven Structures for Textile Reinforced Composites

Abstract

A method, based on simple geometry, is devised to predict the percentages of fibre in the three mutually perpendicular directions for 3D woven interlinked structures. This provides an opportunity to design fabrics for specific applications which have known amounts of fibre in the principal stress direction.
