Abstract

Dear Editor,
In the last issue of Ultrasound you were kind enough to publish a letter from me titled “UK museum holdings of historical ultrasound equipment” (Ultrasound 2016; 24: 241–243).
Since the letter went to press, I have been informed that the Science Museum in London have revised the plans for their new medical wing and that medical ultrasound will now be included in this historic display. I am naturally delighted with this decision and wish to register my thanks to John Fleming, former curator of the BMUS Historical Collection, and any others who have contacted the Science Museum, presenting arguments to ensure that ultrasound takes its rightful place in the history of medicine.
It should be noted that the new wing is still only at the planning stage and is not expected to be open to the public for a couple of years yet.
