Abstract
This special issue of Innate Immunity is dedicated to Andrei E. Medvedev who passed away suddenly nearly a year ago. It was Andrei who conceived the idea of assembling a special issue of Innate Immunity that brought together articles written by individuals with a particular interest in the regulation of TLR biology. Andrei was known to all as a generous and able collaborator, as well as a rigorous and meticulous scientist who developed a remarkable and comprehensive knowledge of TLR biology. I am certain that Andrei would have been extremely pleased with the high quality of the peer-reviewed articles that comprise this special issue of Innate Immunity.
