Abstract

Answer C. Midodrine
Midodrine is the first medicine to receive a UK marketing isation for orthostatic hypotension. It is indicated only for people with orthostatic hypotension due to autonomic dysfunction. Non-pharmacological management options are recommended first line. If this fails, use of fludrocortisone and midodrine either alone or in combination may be considered (fludrocortisone use for treatment of all types of orthostatic hypotension is still off label).
