Abstract

Answer D. Refer routinely to vascular surgeons
An aorta less than 3 cm in diameter is normal. The patient is reassured and no further follow-up is arranged. Small (3–4.4 cm) or medium (4.5–5.4 cm) abdominal aortic aneurysms will be followed up through surveillance ultrasound scanning. Large abdominal aortic aneurysms (5.5 cm and above) will be referred to a vascular surgeon for review.
