Abstract

Answer C. Computed tomography (CT) scan
Blood tests including liver function test, clotting screen, full blood count and renal function should be taken. Tumour marker CA 19-9 can be a helpful adjunct and has increasing importance in the staging and follow-up of pancreatic cancer. The most useful initial investigation is abdominal ultrasound scan especially in patients presenting with jaundice without weight loss. CT imaging is the best method for detecting pancreatic neoplasms and are useful in the assessment of respectability and staging.
