Abstract

Answer B. Breast cancer
It is important to use the UKMEC (UK medical eligibility criteria) when assessing the risk of using particular contraceptives in individuals with certain medical conditions. The only criterion with a complete contraindication to the use of the implant (UKMEC category 4) is current breast cancer. All the other options are in the UKMEC 1 category, meaning that there is no restriction to Nexplanon use.
