Abstract

Answer D. Referral for laparoscopy

Laparoscopy and histological confirmation are considered the gold standard to diagnose endometriosis. Ultrasound scan does not show endometrial tissue deposits. Inflammatory blood tests are not useful and CA 125 titres are not considered useful. Immunological markers are not currently able to diagnose endometriosis.
