Abstract

Answer A. Azithromycin 1 gm as a single dose
The first line recommended regimen for uncomplicated chlamydia infection is doxycycline for a week or a single dose of azithromycin. Erythromycin or ofloxacin can be used if the two former drugs are contraindicated. In pregnant or breast-feeding women, azithromycin, erythromycin or amoxicillin should be used. Doxycycline and ofloxacin are contraindicated in pregnancy.
