A 28-year-old lady presents in the morning emergency surgery asking for emergency contraception. She had unprotected sexual intercourse (UPSI) 12 hours ago. She reports that her last menstrual period (LMP) was 7 days ago, with no UPSI since then. Her past medical history includes trigeminal neuralgia treated with carbamazepine. She is currently on antibiotics for a possible pelvic inflammatory disease (PID).
