Abstract

Answer D. Recurrent depression
Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy uses cognitive and behavioural techniques as well as mindfulness therapies to challenge people’s thoughts and feelings with regards to their mental health problems. The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence has recommended this for people who have suffered with at least three episodes of depression and those who have relapsed or for people who are prone to depression. Although there is growing evidence for its use in other mental health conditions, it is not yet recommended by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence.
