Abstract

Answer B. Metronidazole gel
Papulopustular rosacea can respond well to topical treatments of metronidazole, azelaic acid and ivermectin. The gel is applied twice daily for at least 8 weeks. Benzoyl peroxide is used for acne and if antibiotics are needed for rosacea, then tetracyclines or macrolides would usually be picked. Hydrocortisone would only be used for ocular rosacea. 5-fluorouracil cream is indicated for actinic keratosis.
