A 65-year-old man with known diabetes mellitus comes to see you complaining of a 1-week history of flashes and floaters affecting the lateral aspect of vision in his right eye. He describes a grey area evident in his right eye. He doesn’t complain of any eye pain and has no loss of vision. Fundoscopy and visual acuity are normal.
