Abstract

Answer B. Intranasal corticosteroids
Intranasal corticosteroids should be tried for chronic rhinosinusitis. Another option is nasal irrigation. Paracetamol or ibuprofen are the analgesics of choice rather than codeine. Antibiotics are not recommended for chronic rhinosinusitis but can be used for an acute flare. Intranasal decongestants should only be used for a maximum of 1 week to help with congestion symptoms as required. Oral corticosteroids can be used if there are bilateral large nasal polyps.
