A 29-year-old lady has been unable to conceive for the past 18 months despite regular unprotected sexual intercourse. Her periods are irregular. She is slightly overweight. Her blood results show a normal full blood count and thyroid function. Her luteinising hormone is 18 mIU/ml and her follicle stimulating hormone is 6 mIU/ml.
