Abstract

Answer D. Wrist splint
Carpal tunnel syndrome is the most common peripheral nerve entrapment problem. Symptoms can be debilitating for patients. Management within primary care includes the use of a wrist splint, referral to physiotherapy, trial of a steroid injection and referral for consideration of carpal tunnel release surgery. There is a lack of evidence of oral medication, acupuncture and therapeutic ultrasound.
