Abstract

Answer A. Hormone replacement therapy
The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence recommends using hormone replacement therapy to improve low mood associated with the menopause. Selective noradrenaline reuptake inhibitors and selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors can be tried for menopausal women also diagnosed with anxiety and depression but there is little evidence for their use for just low mood associated with the menopause. The other options are not mentioned.
