Irritable bowel syndrome typically presents with symptoms of alternating constipation and diarrhoea, abdominal pain and abdominal bloating. Although some of the symptoms may suggest other possible diagnoses (and require investigations to rule them out), the most likely diagnosis is irritable bowel syndrome.
