Abstract

Answer E. 69 mmol/mol
Poorly controlled diabetes can increase the risk of post-operative respiratory and urinary tract infections, surgical site infections, myocardial infarction and acute kidney injury. GPs should aim to control glycaemic control to less than 69 mmol/mol within 3 months of referral if practical and safe.
