Abstract

Answer E. Topical calcineurin inhibitors
Topical calcineurin inhibitors work by blocking a chemical within the immune system that contributes to eczema symptoms. These can be considered as second-line options for children whose eczema does not respond adequately to topical corticosteroids, or children who are at risk of serious adverse effects from further corticosteroid use, such as irreversible skin atrophy.
