The text is an autoethnographic, experimental, and contemplative inquiry into a problem related to the felt compulsion to write. The text is written in a mode of continuous questioning. The author poses questions such as: Why can he not stop writing? What compelled him to do so? To explore this, he also examines academic culture and mobilizes other voices that address writing as inquiry and as a way of being.
