Abstract

Michael Foucault provides one of the major critical theoretical frameworks for the study of religion. The Center for Critical Research on Religion (www.criticaltheoryofreligion.org) has thus far published four Foucauldian contributions. The first, in our book series Studies in Critical Research on Religion, is by Christina Petterson (2014, 2017) and the other three, which are articles in this journal, are by Matthew Chrulew (2014), Lauri Siisiäinen (2015), and Alistair Mutch (2017). We received the articles that appear here as separate and independent submissions but since they share in common that they take Foucault’s theories and apply them to different cases and that were all positively reviewed around the same time, we have decided to group them together into a special section.
