Abstract
Introduction:
The anterior cruciate ligament is one of the two cruciate ligaments that aids in stabilizing the knee joint. ACL injuries are injuries common in the young adult population. The incidence of ACL injuries is more than 200,000 worldwide. Many factors can cause ACL injuries. The purpose of this study was to assess the characteristics of patients with ACL injuries at Siti Fatimah Regional General Hospital South Sumatera period 2021-2023.
Materials and Method:
This study is a descriptive retrospective study, data taken from medical records of ACL Injuries patients treated in Siti Fatimah Regional General Hospital for the 2021-2023 period. Sampling used total sampling.
Results:
Patients receiving ACL treatment at Siti Fatimah Regional General Hospital for the 2021-2023 period total 8 people with ages ranging from 19-43 years and an average age of 28 years. Most patients occur in men with 62.5%, 75% occur in the right knee, 37.5% didn’t finish school and 75% unemployed.
Conclusions:
From the results of this study, the characteristics of patients with ACL rupture were found to be on average at the age of 28 years, male gender, most location of injuries at right knee, didn’t finish school and unemployed.
